Abstract:

Cílem této studie je zjistit, nakolik spolu souvisí psychosociální klima třídy se školní úspěšností žáků a jak úspěšnost souvisí se sociálním statusem žáka ve třídě. První část se zabývá teoretickými východisky. Zaměřuje se na sociální klima školní třídy včetně faktorů, které jej ovlivňují, a možnostmi diagnostiky klimatu. Dále je charakterizována školní třída jako malá sociální skupina a jsou probrána vývojová specifika žáků druhého stupně základní školy. Zmíněny jsou také druhy sociálních rolí a principy sociometrie. Dále se teoretická část věnuje problematice školního prospěchu a v jejím závěru je uveden přehled některých českých i zahraničních výzkumů. V praktické části je věnován prostor realizaci výzkumu. Výzkumný soubor se skládá z žáků 8. a 9. tříd tří brněnských základních škol (N=286). Výzkumnými nástroji jsou dva dotazníky, CES a B-3. Byly zjišťovány také známky žáků a proběhl krátký rozhovor s třídními učiteli. Na základě našeho výzkumu byl zjištěn slabě negativní, zato signifikantní vztah mezi školním prospěchem a spokojeností se sociálním klimatem třídy. Výzkum zjistil, že oblíbenější žáci mají lepší studijní průměr než ostatní a neoblíbení žáci mají horší průměr než ostatní. Dále bylo zjištěno, že některé sociální statusy mají specifické prospěchové profily (status spolehlivý, spravedlivý, nespolehlivý atd.). Byly nalezeny také rozdíly mezi vnímáním klimatu dívkami a chlapci a jejich prospěchem. Závěr diplomové práce se zabývá diskuzí, limity výzkumu a možnostmi dalšího výzkumného směřování.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to establish whether there is a relationship between elementary school pupils‘ academic achievement and the climate in their class. It also attempts to ascertain whether academic achievement is related to pupils’s social status within the class. The first part deals with the relevant theoretical background focusing on the social climate in a class, including the influencing factors and the means of diagnosing it. It is also characterises a class as a small social group and discusses the developmental specifics of pupils in elementary school. Mentioned are also various kinds of social roles and sociometry principles. This part also addresses the issues of study results and offers an overview of selected items of Czech and foreign research. The practical part of the thesis presents the research. The research group consists of pupils of 8th and 9th grade of three elementary schools in Brno (N = 286). The research tools were two questionnaires CES and B-3. The grades of the surveyed students were also taken into account and short interviews with the class teachers were conducted. Based on our research, we found slightly negative, yet significant relationship between school performance and individual satisfaction with the social climate in the class. Our research has also discovered that popular pupils have better grades, while unpopular ones have worse grades compared to the rest of the class. It was also established that some social statuses have specific profiles (status of reliability, fairness, unreliability etc.). Differences between the girls‘ and boys‘ perception of climate and their study results were also found. The final section of the thesis presents the discussion, points out the research limits and indicates possibilities of further research directions.
