Polyamory - alternative relationships in monogamous society

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na fenomén polyamorie v monogamní společnosti. V teoretické části jsou diskutována témata rodiny a jejího vývoje, kulturní konstruovanosti monogamní normy a jejího vlivu na sociální strukturu. Dále jsou zde nastíněna témata lásky a sexuality, a alternativních vztahů v dnešní společnosti. Práce konkrétně rozvíjí myšlenku polyamorie jako alternativy sériové monogamie. Praktická část vychází z výzkumu zaměřeného na polyamoriky, snaží se o představení a rozvinutí tématu polyamorie. Výzkum se zaměřuje především na fungování polyamorického vztahu v monogamní společnosti, vnímání polyamorie samotnými polyamoriky, a na reakce s jakými se setkávají ve svém okolí.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the phenomenon of polyamory in a monogamous society. The theoretical part discusses topics of family and its development, monogamous norm as cultural construct and its impact on the social structure. It also outlines the themes of love and sexuality, and alternative relationships in today's society. This thesis develops concretely the idea of polyamory as an alternative to serial monogamy. The practical part is based on research on polyamory, tries to present polyamory and explication of this theme. The research focuses on the functioning of polyamory relationship in monogamous society, perception of polyamory by polyamorous people themselves, and the reactions with which they face in their communities.
