Abstract:
Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku překladu krásné literatury z angličtiny do češtiny. V teoretické části jsou popsána vybraná teoretická východiska podle Levého a Newmarka, praktická část se zabývá dvěma konkrétními jazykovými oblastmi, překladem právnického stylu a metafor. Příloha obsahuje autorský překlad dvou kapitol románu.
Abstract:
The diploma thesis concentrates on the translation of the literary prose from English to Czech language. The theoretical part deals with selected ideas of the translation theory as presented by Levý and Newmark, the practical part elaborates on two practical areas of translation, legal English and metaphors. The translation of two chapters of the novel is enclosed in the appendix.
