Introduction to Spanish Cinema in its Historicity (1980-2000)

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to introduce the personality and the work of the Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar. The work is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is focused on basic facts about director?s life, authors who influenced him, his works? period context and on separating his work into four phases. In the end we have briefly described director?s cinematographic language. The practical part is focused on author?s own production. We have analyzed the themes and characters in thirteen Almodóvar?s movies. We have built a corpus based on our results. In the next part we have focused on intertextuality and selfreference of director?s works. As a starting-point we have used primarily these books: Antonio Holguín Pedro Almodóvar and Nuria Vidal El cine de Pedro Almodóvar.

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce bylo představit osobnost a tvorbu španělského režiséra Pedra Almodóvara. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí: části teoretické a části praktické. V teoretické části jsme se věnovali základním údajům týkajících se života režiséra, autorům, kteří měli na jeho práci určitý vliv, dobovému kontextu jeho tvorby a rozčleněním jeho díla do čtyř etap. Nakonec jsme stručně popsali kinematografický jazyk režiséra. V praktické části jsme se zaměřili na vlastní tvorbu autora. Analyzovali jsme tématiku a postavy ve třinácti Almodovarových filmech. Na základě našich výsledků jsme sestavili korpus. V další části jsme se zabývali intertextualitou a autoreferencí režisérova díla. Východiskem pro nás byly zejména knihy autorů: Antonio Holguín Pedro Almodóvar a Nuria Vidal El cine de Pedro Almodóvar.
