Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje čínské science fiction literatuře, konkrétně analýze díla Mars nad Spojenými státy: zápisy z cest na západ roku 2066 (Huoxing zhaoyao Meiguo: 2066 nian zhi xixing manji 火星照耀美国:2066年之西行漫记), které napsal Han Song 韩松, jeden z významných soudobých čínských science fiction spisovatelů. Ústředním tématem románu je opoziční postavení dvou zemí, silné Číny a upadajících Spojených států amerických. Hlavními otázkami této práce je, jakým způsobem jsou v díle zobrazeny oba státy a jakou funkci v rámci románu má konstrukt Spojených států. Kromě analýzy jednotlivých zemí je brán v potaz jejich vzájemný vztah, pozornost je věnována jejich společným rysům. Součástí výzkumu je rovněž zodpovědět, jakým způsobem je v díle zobrazena historie.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on Chinese science fiction literature, specifically on analysis of a novel called Mars Shines on America: An Account of a Westward Journey in the Year 2066 (Huoxing zhaoyao Meiguo: 2066 nian zhi xixing manji 火星照耀美国:2066年之西行漫记), written by Han Song 韩松, one of the most prominent Chinese science fiction writers of these days. The central theme of the novel is an opposing position of two countries, strong China and declining United States of America. The main questions of this thesis are, how are these states portrayed in the novel and what kind of function has the depiction of the United States. Apart from the analysis of particular countries, their mutual relationship is taken into consideration. Attention is paid to their common features. A part of the study also aims to answer, how history is depicted in the novel.
