Prevention of cancers of the female reproductive organs and breast cancer in the elderly

Abstract:

Diplomová práce zjišťuje povědomí žen v seniorském věku o prevenci nádorových onemocnění ženských reprodukčních orgánů a prsu. Hlavním těžištěm práce je kvantitativní průzkumné šetření, týkající se znalostí a informovanosti seniorek o možnostech prevence těchto nádorových onemocnění a jejich aktivní účast v preventivních programech. Analýza a interpretace získaných dat poskytuje informace o dodržování harmonogramu preventivních prohlídek v gynekologii, o absolvování mamografického screeningu a o znalostech rizikových faktorů a příznaků gynekologických nádorů a nádorů prsu. Diplomová práce předkládá návrh řešení zjištěných nedostatků, jako je nedostatečná účast seniorek v preventivních programech a nízká úroveň vědomostí o rizikových faktorech a příznacích nádorových onemocnění.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis investigates senior women´s awareness of prevention of female reproductive organ and breast tumour diseases. The main focus of the thesis is a quantitative survey concerning senior women´s knowledge and awareness of the possibilities of prevention of the mentioned tumour diseases and their active participation in preventive programmes.The analysis and interpretation of the acquired data provide information on the women´s compliance with the schedule of preventive gynaecological examination, on their undergoing mamographic screening, and their knowledge of risk factors and symptoms of gynaecological and breast tumours. The diploma thesis suggests a solution to the ascertained inadequacies, such as the senior women´s insufficient participation in preventive programmes and their low level of knowledge of risk factors and symptoms of tumour diseases.
