Diplomová práca sa zameriava na stredovekú báseň Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, ktorá je dobre známa svojou chválou krásy a ušľachtilosti dvora kráľa Artuša. Cieľom práce je preskúmať, či sa za pozlátkom tejto chvály neskrýva kritika rytierstva a kódexu, ktorým sa riadilo. Na dosiahnutie tohto cieľa využíva diplomová práca trojstupňovú analýzu. The main objective of this thesis is to examine whether Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, one of the most widely discussed medieval poems commonly known for its praise and celebration of courtly life, hides behind the admiration of the refinement of King Arthur and his court a critique of the knightly class and the chivalric code guiding its conduct.
