Bitcoin, the new world currency or just one of the other kinds of investments?

Abstract:

Práce je zejména řešena v kontextu s aktuální pandemií COVID-19, neboť v průběhu tohoto období se ceny kryptoměn a zájem o kryptoměny na finančních trzích extrémně zvedl. Cílem této práce je vyhodnotit potenciál kryptoměn, a to konkrétně Bitcoinu, stát se rezervní měnou v rozvahách centrálních bank. Zvolený problém je vyřešen na základě technické analýzy Bitcoinu a komparační analýzy vývoje cen Bitcoinu a zlata, které nám objasní významné cenové body na časové řadě a sestrojí potenciální vývoj ceny do budoucna s podporou zvolených cenových indikátorů, neboť práce rozvíjí myšlenku, že Bitcoin má určité charakteristiky jako má zlato, tj. že jeho množství a tržní cena přímo nezávisí na centrální měnové autoritě. Vytvořené řešení poskytuje investiční příležitost do Bitcoinu, neboť v rámci dlouhodobého pohledu se Bitcoin jeví jako signifikantně výnosnější, oproti zlatu. Práce bude užitečná zejména jako doporučení pro investiční rozhodování bank do Bitcoinu v době, kdy se se cena zdá relativně vysoká. Avšak práci mohou využít samotní investoři, kteří hledají příležitost k dlouhodobému investování, případně práce poslouží jako podklad pro nějakou širší technickou analýzu.

Abstract:

This work is particularly addressed in the context of the current COVID-19 pandemic, as of during this period, cryptocurrency prices and interest in cryptocurrencies on the financial markets have increased significantly. The aim of this work is to evaluate the potential of cryptocurrencies, namely Bitcoin, to become a reserve currence on central bank balance sheets. The chosen problem is solved on the basis of a technical analysis of Bitcoin and an comparitive analysis of Bitcoin and gold price trends, which will explain to us significant price points on a time series and will set out potential price developments for the future with the support of chosen price indicators, as the work develops the idea, that Bitcoin has certain characteristics such as gold, i. E. that its quantity and market price do not depend directly on central monetary authority. The solution creatted provides an investment opportunity in Bitcoin as, in the long run, Bitcoin appears to be significantly more profitable than gold. The work will be particularly useful as a recommendation for bank's investment decisions in Bitcoin at a time when the price seems relatively high. However, the work can be used by the investors themselves, who are looking for an opportunity for long-term investment, or the work will serve as a basis for some broader technical analysis.
