Prevention and adapted physical exercise for an adult patient with Brugada syndrome: case report

Abstract:

Brugada Syndrome is a genetically transmitted arrhythmogenic pathology with the peculiarity of having a picture resulting from the electrocardiogram with an anomaly in the transmission of complete or incomplete right electrical impulses and elevation of the ST tract in the V1-V3 branches with a shape called "curtain" or "saddle". The disease is linked to a high risk of sudden cardiac death and cardiac arrest. The specific changes in the electrocardiogram are momentary, causing difficulties at the time of diagnosis. For this reason, the drug test with the intake of antiarrhythmic drugs through an injection into a vein can allow the diagnosis in suspected cases. Within this report, the clinical case of an adult patient with Brugada syndrome who carries out a preventive plan and subsequently a post-surgical plan after epicardial ablation will be described. The goal of the thesis will be to investigate the path of a patient suffering from Brugada Syndrome from the moment he manifests the symptoms to post-operative recovery.

Abstract:

La Sindrome di Brugada ? una patologia aritmogena geneticamente trasmessa con la peculiarit? di avere un quadro derivante dall'elettrocardiogramma con un'anomalia nella trasmissione degli impulsi elettrici di destra completo o incompleto ed elevazione del tratto ST nelle diramazioni V1-V3 con una forma detta "a tenda" o "a sella". La malattia viene collegata ad un alto rischio di morte cardiaca improvvisa e di arresto cardiaco. Le alterazioni dell'elettrocardiogramma specifiche sono momentanee, causando delle difficolt? al momento della diagnosi. Per questo motivo il test farmacologico con l'assunzione di farmaci antiaritmici tramite un'iniezione praticata in vena pu? consentire la diagnosi nei casi sospetti. All'interno di questo elaborato sar? descritto il caso clinico di un paziente adulto affetto da Sindrome di Brugada che svolge un piano preventivo e successivamente un piano post-chirurgico dopo ablazione epicardica. L'obiettivo della tesi sar? quello di approfondire il percorso di un paziente affetto dalla Sindrome di Brugada dal momento in cui manifesta i sintomi fino al recupero post-operatorio.
