Moravian Baptists - Hutterites, their lifestyle, upbringing and education in the past and present.

Abstract:

Práce pojednává o dějinách hutteritů, o jejich životním stylu, výchově a vzdělávání v minulosti a v současnosti. Po úvodních kapitolách, které se věnuji vzniku novokřtěneckého hnutí v 16. století v Evropě, se práce soustřeďuje na nejvýznamnější odnož novokřtěnců na Moravě – hutterity. Tito se etablovali v Hustopečích, kde jejich usazování povolila tehdejší vrchnost – abatyše cisterciáckého kláštera Králové na Starém Brně. Příchodem tyrolského duchovního vůdce Jakoba Huttera do Hustopečí, obdrželi místní novokřtěnci poprvé náboženský kodex, podle něhož jako následovníci Huttera (hutterité) žijí dodnes. Hlavním rysem hnutí je život v komunitě podle evangelií a prvních křesťanů a majetkové společenství. Další část práce popisuje vytváření společných řemeslnických komunit na Hustopečsku a jejich nejvýznamnější produkci – výrobu habánské fajánse. Pak se práce zaměřuje na vzdělávací systém hutteritů, který vznikl v 16. století na Moravě a který svou propracovaností později ovlivnil i J. A. Komenského. Systém zahrnoval nejen školní výuku a výchovu, ale akcentem na předškolní výchovu dětí předběhl svou dobu o několik staletí. Po nástinu dějin hutteritů po smrti Jakoba Huttera (1536) a po jejich vyhnání z Moravy (1622) následuje analýza současného života a školského systému v hutteritských komunitách, které se rozkládají na území Kanady a USA. Nejen komunitní způsob života a společné vlastnictví, ale i školský systém vykazují velkou míru „věrnosti“ původním ideálům tak, jak se etablovaly v 16. století na Hustopečsku. Práce je zakončena rozhovorem s oceňovanou novinářkou Mary-Ann Kirkbyovou, která ranou část svého života prožila mezi hutterity.

Abstract:

The work deals with the history of hutterites, their lifestyle, upbringing and education in the past and present. After introductory chapters dealing with the emergence of the Baptist movement in the 16th century in Europe, the work focuses on the most important branch of the Baptists in Moravia - hutterity. These established themselves in Hustopeče, where their establishment was allowed by the then nobility - abbess of the Cistercian monastery in Old Brno. The arrival of Tyrolean spiritual leader Jakob Hutter in Hustopeče, the recipients of the local Baptists of the former religious code, according to who accepts as followers of the Hutter (hutterites) they still live today. The main feature is the life in the community according to the Gospels and Christians and the property community. Another part of the publication of common craft communities in the Hustopeče region and their most important production - production of Haban faience. Then the work focuses on the educational system of hutterites, which originated in the 16th century in Moravia and which has sophistication, which also influence J. A. Komenského. The system included only school teaching and education, but it was several centuries ahead of the pre-school education of children. The bulletin board of the history of the hutterites after the death of Jacob Hutter (1536) and their expulsion from Moravia (1622) is followed by an analysis of contemporary life and the school system in the Hutterite communities that spread across Canada and the USA. Not only the community way of life and common ownership, but also the school system publish a large degree of “fidelity” of the original ideal as established in the 16th century in the Hustopeče region. The work concludes with an interview with award-winning journalist Mary-Ann Kirkby, who has spent part of her life among the hutterites.
