The Theme of Woman in Czech Textbooks and Reading-Books for Secondary School

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá zkoumáním tematizace ženy ve vybraných moderních učebnicích literatury a čítankách pro střední školy, které byly vytvořeny a publikovány po roce 2000. Pomocí analýzy těchto výukových materiálů je sledována jejich genderová vyváženost, a především pak nejčastější způsoby vyobrazení žen v rámci rozebíraných středoškolských učebnic a čítanek. Cílem této práce je v celkem třech částech obsáhnout celou problematiku práce s ženským motivem ve vybraných výukových materiálech a definovat jejich didaktický potenciál - tedy to, zda a jak je možno se sledovaným obsahem ve výuce dále pracovat. Výsledky naznačují, že přestože jsou ženské postavy v různých rolích v rámci analyzovaných učebnic a čítanek často tematizovány, není již tento motiv až na výjimky dále rozvíjen pomocí navazujících otázek ani úkolů. I na tomto základě je tak poslední část práce věnována vytvoření vlastního projektu, který s problematikou ženy v literatuře pracuje v co největší možné míře.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis researches the theme of woman in Czech textbooks and reading-books for secondary school that were written and published after the year 2000. Using the analysis of certain teaching materials we can see the gender balance and above all their most common ways of depicting women in textbooks and reading-books. The aim of this thesis, which is divided into three parts is to cover the problematic women motive in chosen books and define their didactic potential - this means, if it is possible to work with the subject matter further. The results show that even though the women characters are quite often analysed, this motive is not further discussed. Based on this fact there is my own project in the last part of this thesis, which fully works with the problematic women topic.
