Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje jedné z nejznámějších meziválečných cenzurních kauz týkajících se literatury. Jedná se o spor, v němž zástupci firmy Baťa žalovali autora románu Botostroj Svatopluka Turka a jeho nakladatele Bohumila Jandu pro urážku na cti. Cílem této práce je popsat známou cenzurní kauzu bez ideologických předporozumění, jež ovlivňovala dřívější bádání o Botostroji. Dané téma je zkoumáno z hlediska literární cenzury, cílem je popsat sledovanou kauzu jednak v kontextu dobové cenzurní praxe, jednak s ohledem na aktuální bádání o cenzuře. Jednotlivé části práce se věnují osobnosti T. Svatopluka, okolnostem vydání románu, včetně cenzurního zásahu, a žalobám, na jejichž základě došlo ke konfiskaci Botostroje. Alespoň rámcově je reflektována úloha rodiny Baťových v soudobém umění, včetně dalších obdobných procesů spojených se jménem Baťa. Hlavní pozornost je věnována strategiím, jež volili jednotliví účastníci sporu s ohledem na své momentální cíle a na aktuální vývoj procesu. Ve stručnosti jsou naznačeny také další osudy díla v poválečném období.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with one of the most famous inter-war censorship cases related to literature. It is about a case in which Bata´s representative have sued the author of the novel Botostroj Svatopluk Turek and his publisher Bohumil Janda for defamation. The aim of this work is describe a well-known censorship case without ideological preconceptions that have influenced earlier explorations on Botostroj. This topic is examined from view of literary censorship. The main point of view is describe watched case partly in context of period censorship practise, so with regard to actual research about censorship. Parts of the work are devoted to personality T. Svatopluk, circumstance of publication of the novel, including censorship and the action that resulted in the confiscation of Botostroj. At least, the role of Bata´s family is reflected at contemporary art, including other similar process associated with the name of Bata. The main attention is given on the strategies that were chosen by participants this case with consideration on their current target and on current process development. Briefly there are also indicated other fate of the works at the post-war period.
