Abstract:

Předložená disertační práce je pojata jako sonda do profesního života specifické skupiny zdravotnic, řádových sester v roli všeobecných sester, která má ambice být příspěvkem do diskuse o vztahu pomáhajících pracovníků, umírajících, jejich blízkých a pozůstalých v institucionálních zařízeních. Etika všech zdravotníků totiž vychází ze vztahu a projevuje se prostřednictvím komunikace. Cílem práce je hledání odpovědi na hlavní výzkumnou otázku, která zní: Jaké etické otázky související s komunikací s umírajícími, jejich blízkými a pozůstalými si kladou řeholnice pracující ve vybraném domově pro seniory? Čtenáři se v textu mají možnost dozvědět, co je obsahem etických otázek, které si řeholní sestry kladou. Protože však tyto etické otázky konstruují jejich aktéři na základě svých ideálů, je zde vymezeno, jaký je morální ideál řeholních sester pro práci s umírajícími, jejich blízkými a pozůstalými, a zdali vůbec, popř. s čím je tento ideál konfrontován. Stranou výzkumné pozornosti nezůstala ani otázka, jaká napětí na základě konfrontace morálního ideálu s překážkami jeho realizace v očích řádových sester vznikají a jak na toto napětí řeholnice reagují. V rámci výzkumu se autorka snažila zjistit, do jakých pomáhajících oborů tyto etické otázky řeholních sester spadají a jestli se způsobem, kterým reagují na napětí mezi ideálem a překážkami subsystému komunikace mezi umírajícími, jejich blízkými a pozůstalými, podílejí na naplňování cílů sociální práce.

Abstract:

This dissertation is ment to be a probe into the professional life of a specific group of health workers - the nuns in the role of general nurses. The study has ambitions to be a contribution to the debate about the relationship between health workers helping the dying, their families and bereaved in institutional settings. The ethics of health care is based on their relationship and is manifested through communication. The aim is to answer the main question of the research, which is: „What ethical questions ragarding communication with the dying and their loved ones and bereaved do the nuns in a specific senior home ask? The readers of the text have the opportunity to learn the contents of the ethical question raised by the nuns. However, these ethical questions are based on the ideals of the people who raise them. Therefore the study defines the moral ideals of the nuns in their work with the dying, their loved ones and the bereaved, finds out if their ideals are confronted with anything and eventually examines what they are confronted with. In my study I also did not neglect the question of the tension resulting from the confrontation between the moral ideals and the obstacles in their realisation. I also examined the nuns´ reaction to this tension. I tried to find out what helping fields the nuns´ ethical questions fall into and if the nuns fulfill (through the way they react to the tension between their moral ideals and the obstacles of the subsystem of the communication among the dying, their loved ones and the bereaved) the aims of social work.
