Emulator of Benign User Behavior on the Network

Abstract:

The topic of cybersecurity is considered more and more important in this era of digitalization. When almost all information is stored in digital form, and our lives depend on modern technologies, it is necessary to improve the preparation of cybersecurity exercises for current and future employees responsible for the security of institutions. For this purpose, we create emulators of attackers, defenders and common users, whose task is to automize roles in this exercizes. This thesis is focused on emulation of the common users. The result of this thesis is a component within a framework for emulation of user behaviour, which will enable future research regarding this framework.

Abstract:

Téma kybernetickej bezpečnosti je v dnešnej dobe digitalizácie považovaná za stále viac a viac dôležitú. V časoch, keď sú takmer všetky informácie v digitálnej forme a naše životy sú od moderných technológií závislé, je nutné zlepšovať a zefektívňovať prípravu kyberbezpečnostných cvičení pre súčasných aj budúcich zamestnancov zodpovedných za bezpečnosť inštitúcií. Za týmto učelom vznikajú emulátory útočníkov, obrancov aj bežných užívateľov, ktorých úlohou je automatizovať role v týchto cvičeniach. Táto práca sa zameriava práve na emuláciu bežných užívateľov. Výsledkom tejto práce je komponenta v rámci frameworku emulátora správania užívateľov, ktorá umožní ďaľší výskum pri tvorbe tohto frameworku.
