Dyslexia and its influence on a child' s bahaviour in a class team of an ordinary primary school

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zjistit, zda se specifická porucha čtení významným způsobem podílí na budování vztahů dítěte majícího dyslektické obtíže se svými spolužáky a zda hraje ústřední roli při utváření a zastávání sociálního statusu dítěte v rámci třídního kolektivu běžného typu školy Současně se v práci zamýšlíme nad skutečností, jak se snížená schopnost čtenářské dovednosti dítěte promítá do jeho vlastního sebepojetí a vnímání své vlastní osobnosti. V teoretické části tak nejprve definujeme samotný pojem dyslexie a následně se zabýváme jejími příčinami, projevy, diagnostickými a reedukačními postupy. Samostatné kapitoly pak tvoří pojednání o sebepojetí a sebehodnocení dítěte vyznačujícího se dyslektickými obtížemi, kdy se zaměřujeme zejména na jeho vzájemnou interakci s rodinou, pedagogy a spolužáky. V empirické části se pokoušíme zodpovědět výše stanové cíle za pomoci standardizovaného dotazníku Sebepojetí školní úspěšnosti dětí - SPAS, Dotazníku na měření internality a externality INTEX a Sociometrického testu. Výzkumného šetření se zúčastnilo celkem 433 respondentů z toho 111 žáků vyznačujících se dyslektickými obtížemi a 322 žáků kontrolní skupiny z pěti základních škol běžného typu. Z výsledků výzkumu je patrné, že sociální postavení dítěte vyznačujícího se dyslexií je rozdílné oproti jeho intaktním spolužákům a současně se toto znevýhodnění promítá také do jeho sebepojetí a sebehodnocení.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to ascertain whether the specific reading disorder significantly contributes to the building of relationships of a child with dyslexic difficulties with his/her classmates and whether it plays a central role in the formation and maintenance of the child's social status within the classroom of a regular/mainstream school. At the same time it adresses how the child's reduced reading ability is reflected in his/her own self-concept and perception of his/her own personality. Thus, in the theoretical part we first define the concept of dyslexia itself and then discuss its causes, manifestations, diagnostic and re-education procedures. The chapters are then devoted to the self-concept and self-assessment of the dyslexic child, focusing in particular on his/her interaction with family, teachers and classmates. In the empirical section, we try to answer the above-stated objectives with the help of the standardized questionnaire Self-concept of school achievement of children - SPAS, a questionnaire for measuring internal and externalities - INTEX, and a sociometric test. A total of 433 respondents participated in the research investigation, including 111 pupils characterized by dyslexic difficulties and 322 pupils in the control group from five mainstream primary schools. The results of the research show that the social status of the dyslexic child is different from that of his/her non-dyslexic classmates and at the same time this disadvantage is also reflected in his/her self-concept and self-esteem.
