Design of musical instruments made of ceramics and porcelain

Abstract:

V bakalářské práci se zaměřuji na bicí nástroje, respektive na perkuse, a to keramický buben s kozí blánou v inspiraci na pohárovité bubny. Vytvářím ho litím hmoty do sádrové formy. Buben tvořím s oválným vrškem namísto kruhového pro rozmanitější zvuk a k tomu přidávám na noze bubnu valchu, jako další hrací prvek, a i jako ornament kanelury. Nazval jsem ho Doric, podle kanelury v dórském řádu, celý buben je spíše sloupovitého vzhledu.

Abstract:

In my bachelor's thesis, I focus on percussion instruments, namely a ceramic drum with a goatskin inspired by goblet drums. I create it by pouring matter into a plaster mold. I make the drum with an oval top instead of a circular one for a more diverse sound, and to that I add a rattler on the leg of the drum, as another playing element, and also as an ornament of the cannelure. I named it Doric, after the cannelure in the Doric order, the whole drum being rather columnar in appearance.
