Abstract:
Práce pojednává o účelu trestání. Je v ní vymezen pojem trest, zejména z pohledu trestního práva, pomocí několik rozdílných definic, přístupy zabývající se účelem a smyslem trestání a také jednotlivé funkce trestu. Podstatná část práce se věnuje ospravedlnění trestání. The thesis discusses the purpose of punishment. It defines the notion of punishment, especially from the perspective of criminal law, using several different definitions, approaches dealing with the purpose and meaning of punishment, as well as the different functions of punish-ment.
