Antimicrobial effect of cover and dressing materials for the treatment of chronic and acute wound

Abstract:

Práce je věnována antimikrobiálnímu efektu materiálů pro léčbu chronických a akutních ran. V teoretické části byla zpracována literární rešerše zaměřená na nejčastější nozokomiální mikroorganismy způsobující infekce v ranách a na krycí a obvazové materiály na bázi celulózy a jejích derivátů. V praktické části byla testována antimikrobiální účinnost materiálů na bázi karboxymethylcelulózy a dalších komerčně vyráběných produktů na škále vybraných mikroorganismů. Hodnocení antimikrobiálního efektu vzorků bylo testováno difuzním agarovým testem a metodou suspenzní. Ze stěrů z ran byly izolovány a následně identifikovány jednotlivé druhy mikroorganismů. Byl sledován výskyt izolovaných mikroorganismů a jejich případná eliminace v procesu hojení ran.

Abstract:

The work deals with antimicrobial effect of materials for the treatment of chronic and acute wounds. In the theoretical part of the work there was compile literature search focused on the most common microorganisms causing nosocomial infections in wounds and cover materials and dressings based on cellulose and its derivatives. In the practical part of the work there was tested an antimicrobial effect of the materials based on carboxymethylcellulose and other commercially produced products on a selected range of microorganisms. The evaluation of the antimicrobial effect of the samples was tested by agar diffusion test and by suspension method. Individual types of microorganisms were isolated and then identified from the smear of the wounds. The presence of isolated microorganisms and their eventual elimination in the process of wound healing was observed.
