Internationalization, a Significant Area of Exploiting Company´s Potential

Abstract:

Základní rámec této disertační práce je vymezen dvěma pojmy ? potenciálem podniku a internacionalizací ? které jsou v práci zkoumány ve vzájemné souvislosti. Cílem práce je vytvoření modelu internacionalizace potenciálu podniku, založeného na modelu potenciálu podniku, jehož využití přispěje k přehlednému určení struktury a úrovně internacionalizace potenciálu podniku. Ta je v modelu určena ukazatelem úrovně internacionalizace potenciálu podniku. Práce tedy vytváří určitý nový a ucelený obraz potenciálu podniku a jeho internacionalizace pomocí modelu a podporuje pohled na internacionalizaci jako na významnou oblast podniku, jejíž využití, lépe řečeno využití jejího potenciálu, by mělo prokazatelně vést ke zvyšování konkurenceschopnosti a tím i výkonnosti podniku. Práce se tak svým přístupem řadí k významné skupině zastánců pozitivního vlivu internacionalizace na výkonnost podniku. Jádro práce je rozděleno do šesti logicky navazujících částí. Kapitoly 2 a 4 jsou teoretickými východisky pro detailní seznámení se s problematikou pojmů potenciál podniku a internacionalizace podniku. Toto pořadí bylo zvoleno pro základní nastavení a ukotvení modelu potenciálu podniku v kapitole 3, a poté k detailněji propracovanému modelu internacionalizace potenciálu podniku v kapitole 5. Kapitola 6 je věnována testování modelu nejprve jeho teoretickým zasazením do procesu internacionalizace, poté v reálném prostředí pomocí případové studie. V oblasti teorie budou tento model a ukazatel úrovně internacionalizace potenciálu podniku novými a zároveň doplňujícími nástroji k převážně kompozitním indikátorům internacionalizace podniků, které jsou v současnosti v mezinárodní teorii internacionalizace využívány pro potvrzení významu internacionalizace pro podnik. V oblasti praxe umožní model a ukazatel úrovně internacionalizace podnikům zjistit aktuální stav internacionalizace jejich potenciálu, jednak jakou část své produkce realizují na zahraničních trzích, jednak jaké zdroje jsou v podniku internacionalizovány a do jaké míry. Téma a obsah této disertační práce částečně vychází ze související předchozí výzkumné činnosti autora a jejích výsledků.

Abstract:

The fundamental framework of this dissertation thesis is defined by two concepts, the potential of a business enterprise and internationalization, which are examined in relation to each another. The aim of the dissertation is to design a model of internationalization of the potential of a business enterprise based on the model of its potential, the use of which will contribute to determine the structure and level of internationalization potential of the company. The level of internationalization is determined in the model by the indicator of the level of internationalization of the company. Thus the thesis uses the model to create a new and comprehensive picture of the potential of the company and its internationalization and supports the view of internationalization as a major area of a business enterprise, the use of which, or rather the use of its potential, should demonstrably lead to increasing competitiveness and thus to the performance of the company. By its approach the dissertation ranks among the major supporters of the positive impact of internationalization on a company performance. The thesis is divided into six logically related parts. Chapters 2 and 4 present theoretical bases for a detailed explanation of the terms potential of a business enterprise and internationalization of a business enterprise. This sequence was selected for the basic setting and anchoring of the model of potential of a business enterprise in Chapter 3. It also serves for introduction of the elaborate model of internationalization of a business enterprise potential in Chapter 5. Chapter 6 is devoted to testing of the model by first planting it theoretically in the internationalization process , then in a real environment by using a case study. This model and indicator of the level of internationalization of the potential of a company will act as new and also complementary theoretical instruments for predominantly composite indicators of internationalization of companies. These are currently used in the international theory of internationalization to confirm the importance of internationalization for the company. In practice the model and indicator of internationalization of enterprises will allow to determine the current state of internationalization of their potential, specify what scope of their production is realized on foreign markets and also what resources are internationalized within the enterprise and to what extent. The theme and content of this thesis is partly based on previous related research activities of the author and their results.
