Czech-German relations in Brno's local press in 1945 (April - September)

Abstract:

Práce se pokouší vystihnout obraz česko-německých vztahů skrze optiku brněnského poválečného tisku, konkrétně čtyř deníků, které v poválečné době měly povolení vycházet. V první části práce podává základní přehled dějinných událostí, které česko-německé vztahy v Brně ovlivnily. Druhá část je zaměřena na analýzu vybraných významných událostí skrze novinové články. Poslední část práce se zabývá tematickou analýzou tiskovin, tzn. pracuje s články, které se sice netýkají významných dějinných událostí, ale i tak určitým způsobem reflektují česko-německé vztahy v poválečném Československu.

Abstract:

The thesis attempts to capture an image of Czech-German relations through the analysis of Brno's post-war press, specifically the four journals whose publishing was permitted. In the first part, the thesis presents a basic overview of historical events that influenced Czech-German relations in Brno. The second part is focused on analysing selected important events through articles in the press. The final part of the thesis analyses the journals from a thematical viewpoint, i.e. it works with articles that, even though they are not related to important historical events, in some way reflect Czech-German relations in post-war Czechoslovakia.
