Air passenger transport

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na leteckou přepravu osob s důrazem na rizika s ní spojená. Cílem diplomové práce je analýza letecké přepravy osob, zahrnující převážně rizika pro cestující s ní spojená (a jejich obeznámenost s nimi) a následná komparace přepravy nízkonákladových společností a klasických aerolinií z různých hledisek, taktéž s důrazem na rizika. Pro zajištění cíle diplomové práce byl použit kvantitativní i kvalitativní výzkum, jako metody sběru dat byl zvolen dotazník (vyhodnocen statisticky za použití chí-kvadrátu) a strukturované hloubkové rozhovory. Bylo zjištěno, že nelze hovořit o existenci rozdílů mezi riziky, která cestující podstupují, budou-li se přepravovat prostřednictvím nízkonákladových či klasických aerolinií. Nelze také vůbec hodnotit, zdali čeští cestující více využívají služeb nízkonákladových či klasických aerolinií. Výzkumy také prokazují, že cestující nejsou obeznámeni s riziky spojenými s leteckou přepravou osob. Přínosem práce je možnost jejího využití cestujícími pro vlastní komparaci letecké přepravy osob, ale především leteckými či handlingovými společnostmi implementací poznatků z výsledků výzkumu, ať už pro snížení rizika či zlepšení logistických procesů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on the air transport with an emphasis on the risks associated with it. The aim of the diploma thesis is the analysis of air transport, mainly involving the risks for the passengers they must face (and their familiarity with it) and comparation of transport by low-cost companies versus classical airlines from various points of view, also with an emphasis on the risks. The quantitative and qualitative research was used to ensure the aim of the thesis, a questionnaire (statistically evaluated using a chi-square) and structured in-depth interviews were selected. It has been found that it is not possible to talk about the differences between the risks that passengers face if they are transported through low-cost or classic airlines. It is also not possible to assess which services (provided by low-cost or classic airlines) use Czech passengers more. Research also shows that passengers are not familiar with the risks associated with air passenger transport. The benefit of the thesis is its possible use by passengers for their own comparison of air transport, but above all by airlines or handling companies, by implementing knowledge from the results of research, whether to reduce the risk or to improve the logistics processes.
