Use of PMSs/PSCs in hostile environment

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Využití soukromých bezpečnostních společností (dále jen SBS) ve válečných oblastech“ se pokouší v teoretické části nastínit definici a oblasti, ve kterých SBS působí, shrnout historii od žoldnéřství až po současnost, posoudit další užití SBS v budoucnosti a stručně zhodnotit otázku legálnosti. Praktickou část tvoří vyhodnocení dotazníkového šetření provedeného na vzorku 28 dotazovaných, kteří pro SBS ve válečných oblastech pracují. Hlavním cílem práce je vyhodnotit požadavky zahraničních SBS operujících ve válečných nebo krizových oblastech na uchazeče o tento typ práce. Zde práce vychází ze zkušeností respondentů a snaží se posoudit jejich odpovědi se začleněním do širšího kontextu. Vyhodnocení potvrzuje, že k tomu, aby zájemce získal práci v SBS ve válečné oblasti, je třeba splňovat mnoho standardů, mezi kterými jsou zásadní předchozí praxe v ozbrojených složkách a zkušenosti s prací ve válečné oblasti. K výzkumu bylo využito dotazníkového šetření, které proběhlo na vzorku 28 dotazovaných zkušených kontraktorech. Dotazník obsahoval 20 otázek týkajících se získávání práce u SBS, nutných znalostí a dovedností. Snahou této práce je vytvořit vhled do této oblasti, který by měl ulehčit budoucím zájemcům rozhodování, zda na tento trh práce vstoupit a dále pak jak dlouho je reálné se o práci ucházet, zda jejich schopnosti splňují standardy zahraničních společností.

Abstract:

The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis "The Use of PMCs/PSCs (PMSCs) in Hostile Environment" attempts to outline the definition and work areas in which PMSCs operate, to summarize the history from mercenary to the present, to assess further use of PMSCs in the future and to briefly evaluate the question of legality. The practical part consists of the evaluation of a questionnaire survey conducted on a sample of 28 respondents who work for PMSCs in war zones. The main goal of this thesis is to evaluate the portfolio the applicant should have to meet the requirements of foreign PMSCs operating in war or crisis areas. Here, the work is based on the experience of respondents and tries to assess their answers in broader context. The evaluation confirms that in order for an applicant to get a job in PMSCs in war zones, many standards must be met, among which, for example, previous working experience in the armed forces and in the war zones is essential. A questionnaire survey was used for the research, which was conducted on a sample of 28 interviewed experienced contractors. The questionnaire contained 20 questions related to getting a job at PMSCs, the necessary knowledge and skills. The aim of this work is to create an insight into this area of expertise, which should make it easier for future applicants to decide whether to enter this labor market, how long it is realistic to look for a job, whether their skills meet the standards of foreign companies.
