Feminist theory and literature - Conception of women's writing in particular literary works by Jarmila Glazarová, Marie Majerová and Marie Pujmanová

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na feministickou literární teorii, a to konkrétně na koncept ženského psaní ve vybraných dílech Marie Majerové, Marie Pujmanové a Jarmily Glazarové. V teoretické části je představena feministická teorie a jsou zde vysvětleny dva přístupy feministické literární kritiky, kterými jsou feministické čtení a gynokritika. Dále je také sledován vývoj české tradice ženského psaní od konce 18. století do třicátých let 20. století. Praktická část analyzuje z pohledu feministické teorie díla Panenství, Pacientka doktora Hegla a Vlčí jáma, a zaměřuje se především na ženské a mužské postavy a motivy lásky, sebeobětování, emancipace, sexuality a mateřství.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on feminist literary theory, more concretely on the conception of women's writing in particular literary works by Marie Majerová, Marie Pujmanová and Jarmila Glazarová. The theoretical part introduces feminist theory and describes two approaches of feminist literary criticism which are feminist critique and gynocritics. Moreover, it concerns with the development of the Czech tradition of women's writing from the end of the 18th century to the 1930s. The practical part is focused on the analysis of literary works Panenství, Pacientka doktora Hegla and Vlčí jáma from the feminist perspective and it deals with female and male characters and motifs of love, self-sacrifice, emancipation, sexuality and motherhood.
