Self-efficacy and well-being among students of various university majors.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on well-being and self-efficacy among students of various university majors, specifically "human-oriented" and "nonhuman-oriented". In this thesis, we compare the values of these two groups within the framework of well-being and self-efficacy, as well as within these groups within the framework of gender or relationship status. Participants (N=822) were administered the GSE (General Self-Efficacy Scale) and PWBS (Scales of Psychological Well-being) questionnaires. A positive correlation was found between the values of well-being and self-efficacy in both groups of students of "human-oriented" and "non-human-oriented" majors, as well as across all students. A statistically significant difference in the level of well-being was found between the two groups, and in both groups men achieved a higher level of self-efficacy than women. Simultaneously, among students of "human-oriented" majors, individuals in relationships achieved a higher level of well-being compared to single individuals.

Abstract:

Táto práca sa zaoberá well-beingom a self-efficacy u študentov rôznych vysokoškol-ských odborov a to konkrétne „na človeka orientovaných“ a „mimo človeka oriento-vaných“. V práci porovnávame hodnoty u týchto dvoch skupín v rámci well-beingu a self-efficacy, rovnako ako aj vo vnútri týchto skupín v rámci pohlavia či partnerské-ho vzťahu. Participantom (N=822) bol administrovaný dotazník GSE (General Self-Efficacy Scale) a PWBS (Scales of Psychological Well-being). U oboch skupín študen-tov „na človeka orientovaných“ aj „mimo človeka orientovaných“ odborov bola ná-jdená pozitívna korelácia medzi hodnotami well-beingu a self-efficacy a rovnako aj plošne medzi všetkými študentmi. Medzi týmito dvomi skupinami bol zistený štatis-ticky významný rozdiel v úrovni well-beingu a v oboch skupinách dosahovali muži vyššiu úroveň self-efficacy ako ženy. Zároveň u študentov „na človeka orientovaných“ odborov dosahovali vyššiu úroveň well-beingu osoby s partnerom oproti osobám bez neho.
