Empirická část práce vypovídá o postojích seniorů k problematice potřeby vyprazdňování a její změny, dále mapuje účast na preventivních opatřeních zácpy a zjišťuje řešení zácpy u seniorů. Diplomová práce je příspěvek geriatrickému ošetřovatelství, výstupem je edukační materiál určený pro seniorskou populaci.

In the theoretical part it describes the constipation problem in general terms and provides an overview of its solutions and specifics aimed at elderly population. It also offers some possible reasons and solutions to prevention of constipation. In the empirical part of the thesis the attitudes of elderly people towards the need of defecation and its changes are discussed. It further shows participation in precautionary measures and examines various ways in which elderly people solve their problem with constipation. This thesis contributes to geriatrics nursing, the result might be viewed as an educational material designed for elderly population.
