Hlavním účelem této práce je prozkoumat vliv francouzštiny na anglický jazyk s důrazem na francouzská přejatá slova. Teoretická část této práce se soustředí na historický vývoj anglického jazyka v období od staroangličtiny po moderní angličtinu a jeho změny v rámci francouzského vlivu na jazyk.Dále práce vysvětluje obohacování slovní zásoby s důrazem na přejímání z cizích jazyků.
