Analysis of LGBTQ+ characters and their representation in animated stand-alone movies

Anotácia:

Bakalářská práce “ Rozbor LGBTQ+ postav a jejich reprezentace v animovaných stand-alone filmech“ pojednává o reprezentaci LGBTQ+ postav ve animovaných stand-alone filmech. Cílem práce se dopodrobna studovat, jak tvůrci přistupovali k reprezentaci LGBTQ+ postav ve animovaných stand-alone filmech. Zjistit, jestli a jak se měnil přístup k LGBTQ+ postavám v průběhu let. Analýza byla provedena na potvrzených LGBTQ+ postav ze všech animovaných stand-alone filmů. Na začátku práce je něco málo o LGBTQ+ reprezentaci v kinematografii. Formou analýzy jsem ve vybraných filmech sledovala, jak jsou LGBTQ+ postavy reprezentovány a jak se jejich reprezentace vyvíjela v průběhu let.

Abstract:

This bachelors thesis „Analysis of LGBTQ+ characters in stand-alone animated movies“ deals with animated stand-alone movies. The aim of this thesis is to study the approach of directors to the representation of LGBTQ+ characters in animated stand-alone movies in detail. To find out if and how has the approach to LGBTQ+ characters changed over the years.Only the confirmed LGBTQ+ characters from all the stand-alone animated movies I picked were analyzed. The thesis starts with a short piece about the representation of LGBTQ+ characters in cinematography. I have used the process of analysis to observe how are the characters represented in the movies and how has their representation changed over the years.
