Abstract:

Trendem dneška je virtualizace. Jsou virtualizovány stroje, komponenty i softwarová prostředí. Důvody k nasazení virtualizace jsou rozličné, od úspor na hardwaru a energiích až po zachování kompatibility s nejrůznějšími prostředími. Dalším závažným důvodem se jeví nástup cloud computingu. Snem správce jsou systémy, které nepotřebují neustálou údržbu. Představme si serverovnu, ve které pro každou novou službu přikupovali nový server. Za pár let již měli serverů tolik, že jen jejich údržba začala představovat pořádnou položku rozpočtu. Teď ale nastal čas vyřadit starý hardware a tu hromadu serverů zvirtualizovat a naskládat? ?do jediného clusteru.

Abstract:

Virtualization is a today´s trend. Machines, components and software environment are being virtualized. There are various reasons for virtualization, from hardware and energy savings to maintaining compatibility with a variety of environments. Another significant reason is the onset of cloud computing. The systems which do not require permanent maintenance are the administrator´s dream. Let?s imagine a server room, in which a new server is bought for every new service. After a few years we would have so many servers, that only their maintenance would cause a gaping hole in the budget. But now it is time to throw out the old hardware, virtualize the pile of servers and put it? ?into a single cluster.
