Factors affecting road safety from the perspective of heavy truck traffic

Abstract:

Cieľom tejto diplomovej práce „ Faktory ovplyvňujúce bezpečnosť cestnej premávky z pohľadu ťažkej kamiónovej dopravy“ je poukázať na problémy pri užívaní cestnej infraštruktúry kamiónmi nie len v Nitrianskom samosprávnom kraji, ale aj na celom území Slovenskej republiky. V teoretickej časti tejto diplomovej práce je popísaná všeobecná charakteristika cestnej dopravy ako aj legislatívny rámec zaoberajúci sa cestnou dopravou na Slovenku. Nasledujúcou časťou práce je systémová analýza dopravy v samotnom Nitrianskom samosprávnom kraji z pohľadu jej zaťažiteľnosti, výstavby a údržby. Podstatou tejto práce je poukázať na nedostatky vyplývajúce z narastajúcej zaťažiteľnosti v cestnej doprave, ktoré zapríčiňujú následnú náročnosť investícií do opráv a samotnej prevádzky celej cestnej infraštruktúry.Hlavnou metódou použitou v tejto práci je systémová analýza, ktorá sa snaží popísať súčasný stav ciest a ich využiteľnosti v Nitrianskom samosprávnom kraji a tým dospieť k návrhu na zlepšenie aktuálneho stavu.

Abstract:

The aim of the master's thesis “The factors that affect safeness/safety of the road traffic from the point of heavy truck transport“ is to point out the problems by using the road- traffic infrastructure by trucks not only in Nitra Self-governing Region but in the whole territory of the Slovak Republic as well. In the theoretical part of the thesis the general characteristics of the road traffic is described. There is also the legislative framework concerning road transport in Slovakia. The following part is about the system analysis of the transport in Nitra Region from the point of its carrying capacity, construction and maintainance.The core of the thesis is to refer to the limitations of increasing of carrying capacity that is in the road traffic. These limitations cause the increase of investments to the repairs and to the running the road infrastructure as a whole.The main method used in the thesis is the system analysis, which is trying to define the actual conditions of the roads and their efficiency in Nitra Region and to attain to a proposal that improves the current state.
