Friedrich Wieck – the life and legacy of German piano teacher

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci studuji život Friedricha Wiecka (1785–1873), významného německého pedagoga 19. století, a podrobně rozebírám jeho pedagogickou praxi. Práce shrnuje poznatky Wieckových pedagogických metod, které byly získány ze spisu Clavier und Gesang a podrobným prostudováním prstových cvičení pro hru na klavír. Jeho metody jsou významným materiálem nejen pro výuku začátečníků, ale také k nápravě úhozu pokročilejších klavíristů. Cílem práce je příprava podkladů, které umožní učitelům hry na klavír seznámení s metodickými postupy Friedricha Wiecka a pomohou jim orientovat se v dostupných materiálech.

Abstract:

In this bachelor thesis I study the life of Friedrich Wieck (1785–1873), an eminent German musician pedagogue, and analyse his pedagogical practice. The thesis summarizes the pedagogical methods of Friedrich Wieck, which were obtained from the publication Clavier und Gesang and from the thorough study of his finger exercises for piano playing. His methods represent important study material for teaching the beginners as well as for further development of skills of advanced piano players. The aim of the thesis is the preparation of the study materials, which help the piano teachers to familiarize and orientate in the work and methodical approaches of Friedrich Wieck.
