Psychological profiling of serial killers sentenced to death

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje psychologické profilaci sériových vrahů odsouzených k trestu smrti. Práce je rozdělaná na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části se nejdříve věnuji psychologickému profilování, a to především výkladu samotného pojmu, historii, metodám, školám a přístupům v něm využívaných, ale i tvorbou samotného psychologického profilu. Uvádím zde sériové vrahy odsouzené k trestu smrti. Dále se zaměřuji na fenomén sériových vrahů a sériových vražd. Vymezuji, kdo to sériový vrah vlastně je, a co ho ovlivňuje, blíže popisuji i samotnou sériovou vraždu. A v neposlední řadě se zaobírám trestem smrti a ukládáním ochranného opatření. V praktické části se zaměřuji na subjektivní mínění mladých lidí o sériových vrazích, o jejich potrestání i o trestu smrti, a to formou průzkumu – dotazníkového šetření. Cílem teoretické části práce je popsat psychologické profilování, sériovou vraždu či sériové vraha, ale i trest smrti a ochranné opatření a rozšířit tím povědomí odborné i neodborné veřejnosti o této problematice. Cílem praktické části je zjistit názor mladých lidí ve dvou věkových kategorií 18-30 a 30-45 let na sériové vrahy, jejich potrestání a na trest smrti.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the psychological profiling of serial killers sentenced to death. The work is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, I first focus on psychological profiling, primarily the interpretation of the term itself, the history, methods, schools and approaches used in it, but also the creation of the psychological profile itself. A few serial killers sentenced to death are mentioned. I also focus on the phenomenon of serial killers and serial murders. I define who a serial killer actually is and what influences him, I also describe the serial murder itself in more detail. And last but not least, I deal with the death penalty and the imposition of protective measures. In the practical part, I focus on the subjective opinion of young people about serial killers, their punishment and the death penalty, in the form of a survey- a questionnaire survey. The aim of the theoretical part of the thesis is to describe psychological profiling, a serial murder or serial killer, as well as the death penalty and protective measures. These facts should increase the awareness of the professional and non-specialist public about this issue. The aim of the practical part is to find out the opinion of young people in two age categories (18-30 and 30-45 years) about serial killers, their punishment and the death penalty.
