Abstract:

Disertační práce se zabývá návrhem, realizací a testováním otevřeného a široce využitelného řešení kontextové kartografické vizualizace ve webovém prostředí. Práce má dva hlavní výsledky. Prvním výsledkem je rozšíření rozhraní Web Map Service (WMS) konsorcia Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) o kontextovou nadstavbu tak, aby bylo možné jeho prostřednictvím realizovat kontextovou kartografickou vizualizaci. Toto rozšíření je nazváno kontextová mapová služba (CWMS) a bylo prezentováno na zasedání technických komisí konsorcia OGC v Aténách. Druhým výsledkem je vyvinutá aplikace Sissi, která rozhraní kontextové mapové služby CWMS implementuje, a tedy realizuje kontextovou kartografickou vizualizaci. Funkcionalita Sissi byla ověřena v praxi při experimentu „Přeprava nebezpečných látek 2“ na podzim roku 2008 a na základě jeho úspěchu byla publikována jako autorizovaný software. Kromě dvou hlavních výsledků byly v rámci práce shromážděny teoretické poznatky o pojmech „kontext“ a „kontextová kartografická vizualizace“, a také byly charakterizovány vybrané geoinformatické a kartografické specifikace konsorcia OGC v čele se specifikací WMS. Celá disertační práce byla navázána na plnění výzkumného záměru "Dynamická vizualizace v krizovém managementu" od Ministerstva školství mládeže a tělovýchovy ČR (MSM0021622418).

Abstract:

The dissertation thesis deals with design, implementation and testing of open contextual cartographic visualisation (or adaptive visualisation) in web environment. The thesis has two main results. The first result is an extension of Web Map Service interface from Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). The extension enables contextual cartographic visualisation based on WMS interface and it is called Contextual Web Map Service (CWMS). It was already presented in OGC Technical Committee Meeting in Athens. The second result is a server application called Sissi that implements CWMS interface, so Sissi realizes contextual cartographic visualisation. The functionality of Sissi was successfully verified during the field experiment “Transport of Dangerous Goods II” held in the autumn of 2008. Based on the experiment, Sissi was published as an authorised software. In addition to the two main results, the thesis focuses on explanation of terms “context” and “contextual cartographic visualisation” and also on description of OGC specifications Web Map Service and Styled Layer Descriptor. The whole dissertation thesis was created within the frame of the project "Dynamic geovisualisation in risk management" supported by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (MSM0021622418).
