The influence of smart wearables on an active lifestyle

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivem smart wearables na aktivní životní styl. Zaměřuje se na seznámení čtenáře s pojmem smart wearables, tedy definicí takového zařízení, jeho historií a také současností. Zároveň se snaží o porovnáním dvou nejběžnějších typů chytré nositelné elektroniky. Dále se věnuje aktivnímu životnímu stylu, konkrétně ho blíže specifikuje, popisuje jeho rizika a benefity a přibližuje celosvětovou úroveň aktivního života. Nezapomíná také na to, že pandemie COVID-19 do jisté míry aktivní život ovlivnila. Poté formou dotazníkového šetření zjišťuje, za jakým účelem si uživatelé tyto zařízení pořizují. Pokud je hlavním důvodem monitoring aktivity, tak se dotazník zaměřuje na vliv těchto zařízení na motivaci a výsledky při sportovních aktivitách. Také se zajímá o to, zda lidé, co takové zařízení nevlastní, někdy přemýšleli o pořízení tohoto zařízení a pro jaký účel. Odpovědi jsou poté analyzovány a je vyvozen závěr skutečného vlivu těchto zařízení na aktivní životní styl. Dotazníkové šetření bylo úspěšné a celkem se ho zúčastnilo 141 respondentů. Ti odpovídali na otázky ohledně smart wearables a vnímání různých funkcí, které tyto zařízení poskytují ohledně pohybové aktivity. Bylo zjištěno, že se většina respondentů spíše snaží plnit své pohybové cíle a cítí se lépe, či více aktivní, když tyto cíle plní. Lze tedy říct, že nastavení cíle a možnost sledovat náš pokrok k danému cíli nás do jisté míry ovlivňuje a cítíme pocit uspokojení, když tyto cíle plníme.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of smart wearables on an active lifestyle. It focuses on acquainting the reader with the term smart wearables, ie the definition of such a device, history and present, and a comparison of the two most common types of smart wearable electronics. It also deals with an active lifestyle, specifies it in more detail, describes its risks and benefits and approaches the global level of active life. It also does not forget that the COVID-19 pandemic has affected active life to some extent. It then uses a questionnaire survey to find out why users are buying these devices. If the main reason is activity monitoring, then the questionnaire focuses on the influence of these devices on motivation and results in sports activities. It is also interested in whether people who do not own such a device, are ever thought about buying this kind of device and who. The answers are then analyzed, and a conclusion is drawn about the real impact of these devices on the active lifestyle. The questionnaire survey was successful and a total of 141 respondents took part. They answered questions about smart wearables and perceptions of the various functions that these devices provide regarding physical activity. It was found that most respondents tend to try to meet their physical activity goals and feel better or more active when they meet these goals. Thus, it can be said that setting a goal and being able to monitor our progress towards that goal affects us to some extent and we feel satisfied as we meet those goals.
