Abstract:
This thesis examines the phenomenon of language varieties (dialects, accents, sociolects, styles and registers) and the ways they are dealt with in translation to Czech. When a few more terms are added, such as code choice, code-mixing, style shifts and levels of formality, we arrive to an area of translation, that is often neglected or taken for granted and therefore not paid much attention to.
