Policy Recommendations for Post-Conflict Reconstruction in Ukraine: Mitigating Corruption in Strategic Areas

Anotácia:

The aim of the thesis was to provide policy recommendations for combating corruption in the post-conflict reconstruction of Ukraine. The primary focus was to identify problem areas within the Ukrainian system and analyse solutions found within prominent literature and those developed by this paper to establish the most effective policy proposals. The paper analyses a unique aspect of anti-corruption measures in post-conflict reconstructions, as primary literature generally focuses on reconstruction preceding the conclusion of a civil war or ethnic conflict. The paper analysed the proposals with a SWOT analysis to assess their viability and realistic implementation. The paper concluded with the recommendation of three proposals intended to effectively address corruption and promote transparency, accountability and good governance in the post-conflict reconstruction of Ukraine.
