Influence of the moon phases on violent crimes

Abstract:

Měsíc a vliv jeho fází na lidské chování se objevuje ve společnosti již od pradávna, v této diplomové práci si kladu za cíl posoudit vliv fází měsíce na lidské chování ve spojení s pácháním vybraných trestných činů z násilné trestné činnosti na území České republiky. Na základě dosavadní praxe u Policie České republiky se setkáváme se vzrůstajícím počtem násilných trestných činů ve fázi měsíce v úplňku, do těchto lze zařadit zejména sebevraždy a úmyslné ublížení na zdraví. Těchto trestných činů značně přibývá před úplňkem a v době úplňku. Vzrůstající trend v době úplňku se týká také násilí v domácnostech, ale také na veřejnosti, kdy lidé bývají v období úplňku podrážděnější a agresivnější. V diplomové práci chci porovnat několik let zpětně statistiky násilných trestných činů a dalších souvisejících protiprávních jednání týkajících se násilí, se dny, kdy byla luna ve fázi úplňku. Tuto statistiku dále porovnat se dny kdy se měsíc v této fázi nenacházel. Poté za pomoci statistických metod bych rád v závěru práce teorii, že má fáze měsíce vliv na lidské chování potvrdil nebo vyvrátil.

Abstract:

The moon and the influence of its cycles on people’s behavior have appeared dates back thousands of years. society since ancient times In this diploma thesis, I aim to assess the influence of the phases of the moon moon cycles on human behavior in connection with the committing of selected crimes from violent criminal activity in the territory of the Czech Republic. Based on previous practice of the Police of the Czech Republic, we encounter an increasing number of violent crimes during the phase of the full moon, such as suicides and intentional bodily harm can be included in these. These crimes increase significantly before and during the full moon. The increasing trendof crimes at the time of the full moon concerns also includesviolence in the households, but also as well as in public, whenwhere people tend to be more irritable and aggressive during the full moon period. In my thesis, I want to compare the statistics of violent crimes and other violence related offenses related to violenceseveral years back from previous years, with the days that occurred during the moon was in full moon phase. This statistic can be Further will be compared with the days when the moon was not in this phase. Then By the end of this thesis, with the help of statistical methods, I would like to confirm or disprove the theory that the moon cycle influences human behavior at the end of the thesis.
