Postproduction in the Education at the Fine Arts Academies

Abstract:

This thesis maps the inclusion of the role of the term of postproduction to the education at the Fine Arts Academies; deals with the matter of originality in context of the Nicolas Bourriaud’s monography Postproduction and associates it with the theoretical concept of avant-garde’s originality. Conception of thesis is illustrated by the examples of art-works where already existing forms – signs (grid, state’s symbolism) are being used (postproduced). The aim is to demonstrate whether in these art-works originality is preserved in spite of the repetitive use of the same motifs in different eras and localizations in which they were created. The topic also includes the relation between the term of originality and author’s law. Subsequently, the theoretical part is confronted with the mind-set of the Fine Arts Academies teachers and the way they lead students to their own originality.

Abstract:

Práca mapuje zahrnutie role pojmu postprodukcie do výuky na vysokých umeleckých školách; sleduje problematiku pôvodnosti v kontexte monografie Nicolasa Bourriauda Postprodukcia a dáva ju do spojitosti s teoretickým poňatím originality avantgárd. Koncepciu práce ilustrujú príklady diel, v ktorých autori používajú (postprodukujú) konkrétnu, už existujúcu formu – znak (mriežka, štátna symbolika). Má za cieľ ukázať, či zostáva zachovaná pôvodnosť jednotlivých diel, napriek opakovanému užívaniu totožných motívov v rôznych časoch a prostrediach, v ktorých boli vytvorené. Vybraná téma zahŕňa aj vzťah pojmu pôvodnosti k autorskému právu. Teoretická časť je následne konfrontovaná s názormi pedagógov VUŠ a ich prístupom ku vedeniu študentov k pôvodnosti.
