Ethical code of employees in public administration and its influence on corporate culture

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je etický kodex zaměstnanců ve veřejné správě a jeho vliv na firemní kulturu. Etické kodexy mají pozitivní vliv na firemní kulturu a dávají najevo vnějšímu světu, že daný institut usiluje o etické postupy. Práci je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Kdy v teoretické části jsou vymezeny základní pojmy, které s tímto tématem souvisí. Praktická část je zaměřena na průzkum vlivu etického kodexu na firemní kulturu. Pomocí strukturovaného dotazníku, který byl rozeslán institucím veřejné správy v rámci České republiky. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 140 respondentů. Výzkum prokázal, že převážná část institucí, které se účastnily šetření, mají etický kodex a většina zaměstnanců si je vědoma, kde najde jeho aktuální znění. Firemní kultura je spíše pozitivního charakteru, což je určitě pozitivní zjištění. Zaměstnanci veřejné správy si myslí, že etický kodex ovlivňuje jejich firemní kulturu a na neetické chování reagují převážně napomenutím osoby, která se provinila.

Abstract:

The theme of the Bachelor´s thesis is the Ethical code of employees in public administration and its influence on corporate culture. The Code of Ethics has positive influence on company culture and demostrates to outside world that given institution strives for ethical procedures. The thesis is divided into two parts. In theoretical part I defined the basic terms, which are associated with these issues. Practical part is focused on survey of impact of ethical code on company culture based on structured questionnaire. The survey has proved that major part of the institutions that participated in my investigation, have ethical code and most of the employees know where to find its current text.Company culture is rather of positive nature, which occures certainly as a positive finding.Employees in public administration think that ethical code influences their company culture and they respond to unethical behaviour mainly by admonishing the guilty person.
