Mapping of the European mole cricket (Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa) occurrence in the area of interest

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje tématu mapování krtonožky obecné (Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa) v zájmové oblasti, kterou je primárně jižní část Boskovické brázdy. Mapování proběhlo ve dvou sezónách od května do října v letech 2021 a 2022. Záznamy o výskytu krtonožky obecné byly shromážděny celkem z třiadvaceti lokalit, které byly navštěvovány nepravidelně ve zmíněném časovém rozmezí. V případě pozitivního nálezu zájmového organismu byla lokalita navštívena vícekrát. V teoretické části se věnuji komplexní charakteristice přírodních podmínek Boskovické brázdy, severní části Dyjsko-svrateckého úvalu a následně popisu taxonu rovnokřídlých a samotného zájmového druhu – krtonožky obecné. Informace jsou doplněny fotografiemi, pořízenými v terénu. Praktická část práce se věnuje metodice sběru a měření krtonožky obecné. Sběr probíhal prostřednictvím rytí v bahně holýma rukama či v půdě rýčem. Po následném odlovení byl jedinec přeměřen pravítkem a údaje pak zaneseny do poznámek. Jsou zde uvedené i výsledky samotného mapování, společně s výsledky měření nalezených jedinců, zpracované v přehledné tabulce. Výskyt krtonožky obecné byl potvrzen na třech lokalitách, a to konkrétně v katastrech: Čebín v kvadrátu 6764, Popovice v kvadrátu 6865 a Veverské Knínice v kvadrátu 6764. Zaznamenáno a odloveno bylo celkem 111 jedinců, z čehož bylo 109 změřeno. Ve zbylých dvou případech se jednalo o uhynulé jedince, které nebylo možné řádně změřit. V části diskuse porovnávám své výsledky mapování výskytu krtonožky obecné v zájmové oblasti s výsledky jiných autorů z dřívějších let.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis is devoted to the topic of mapping the European Mole Cricket (Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa) in the area of interest, which is primarily the southern part of the Boskovic furrow. The mapping took place in two seasons from May to October in 2021 and 2022. Records of the occurrence of the European Mole Cricket were collected from a total of twenty-three localities that were visited irregularly in the mentioned time range. In the case of a positive finding of the organism of interest, the site was visited several times. In the theoretical part, I focused on the complex characteristics of the natural conditions of the Boskovic furrow, the description of the Dyjsko-Svratek ravine, and then the description of Orthopterans and the species of interest itself the European Mole Cricket. The information is supplemented by photographs taken in the field. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to the methodology of collecting and measuring the European Mole Cricket. The collection took place by means of digging in the mud with bare hands or in the soil with a spade. After the subsequent capture, the individuals were measured with a ruler and the data were then entered into the notes. The results of the mapping itself are listed here, together with the results of the measurements of the caught individuals, processed in a clear table. The occurrence of the European Mole Cricket was confirmed at three localities, namely in the cadastres: Čebín in square 6764, Popovice in square 6865 and Veverská Knínice in square 6764. A total of 111 individuals were recorded and caught, of which 109 were measured. In the other two cases, dead individuals were found that could not be properly measured. In the discussion section, I compare my results of mapping the occurrence of the European Mole Cricket in the area of interest with the results of other authors from earlier years.
