Diplomová práce analyzuje popis anglické společnosti osmnáctého století ve druhém románu Fanny Burney Cecilia. Jako jedna z prvních spisovatelek anglického románu se Frances ve své době stala slavnou právě díky jejímu způsobu popisu lidí. Analýza se zaměřuje na vylíčení mravů společnosti a jejich věrohodnost v porovnání s autorčinými autentickými deníky z této doby a zároveň historickými studiemi. …more
Abstract:
The diploma thesis analyses Fanny Burney’s description of the eighteenth-century society in her second novel Cecilia. As one of the first female writers of English novel, Frances became famous in her period mainly because of her way of depicting people.
