Audiobooks and their Influence on Children's Reading

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem „Audioknihy a jejich vliv na dětské čtenářství“ se primárně zabývá definicí audioknih a také dětským čtenářstvím v souvislosti s audioknihami. První část je soustředěna na audioknihy od jejich vzniku až k jejich následnému rozdělení. Dále obsahuje popis neziskových projektů, vydavatelství i knihoven, jejichž fond je soustředěn na zvukové knihy. Obsahem druhé částí je definice dětského čtenářství, které začíná v rodině a dále pokračuje při povinné školní docházce například četbou doporučovanou. V práci je i popis projektů na dětské čtenářství a podporu audioknih pro děti. Praktická část obsahuje popis vytvořeného webu, který obsahuje seznam audioknih a ty mohou doplňovat povinnou četbu na základních školách.

Abstract:

The thesis titled „Audiobooks and their impact on children’s reading“ deals primarily with the definition of audiobooks as well as children’s reading (in relation to audiobooks). The first part focuses on the phenomenon of audiobooks from their very beginning to their division which followed. The first part further includes descriptions of nonprofit projects, publishing houses and libraries, whose collection is focused on sound recorded books. The second part contains the definition of children’s reading, that starts in families and then goes along with children on their compulsory school attendance when reading recommended literature for instance. The work also includes a description of projects on children’s reading and support of children’s audiobooks. The practical part includes a description of a designed website that contains a list of audiobooks: these can be complementary to compulsory reading at elementary schools.
