Autosomal Aneuploidy - Preparation of the Pathological Findings Atlas for Students Education

Abstract:

Teoretická část práce se zabývá chromosomy a analýzou konstitučního karyotypu – metodikou a významem jeho vyšetřování v klinické medicíně a v neposlední řadě důsledky, které plynou z patologických chromosomových změn. Praktickou část tvoří statistická analýza a kazuistiky pacientů. Statisticky práce zkoumá prevalenci aneuploidií autosomů na OLG FN Brno. Kazuistiky zahrnují probandy, kteří trpí nebo trpěli třemi nejčastějšími trisomiemi chromosomů, tj. Downovým, Edwardsovým nebo Patauovým syndromem. Tito pacienti byli rovněž vyšetřováni na OLG FN Brno a jejich nálezy posloužily k tvorbě atlasu, jenž bude k dispozici pro výuku studentů.

Abstract:

The theoretical part deals with the analysis of chromosomes and constitutional karyotype – the methodology and the significance of this investigation in clinical medicine and the consequences of pathological chromosomal changes. The practical part includes statistical analysis and cases with autosomal aneuploidies. Statistical part of the work investigates the prevalence of aneuploidies at OLG FN Brno. Cases include probands who suffer from three most common autosomal trisomies – Down, Edwards or Patau syndrome. These patients were also examined at OLG FN Brno and their findings were used for creation of the atlas available for students education.
