Russian perception of the 2008 war in Georgia

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce analyzovala ruské vnímání války v Gruzii v roce 2008 pomocí literárního přehledu ruských akademických prací.Práce zahrnovala chronologii a výsledky rusko-gruzínské války, analýzu konfliktu v ruských akademických pracích pomocí různých realistických teorií a diskusi o informační válce jako hlavní zbrani 21.století. Tato studie ukázala, že zapojení Ruska do konfliktu mezi Gruzií a Jižní Osetií a vznik informační války měly vážné důsledky pro světový řád a mezinárodní vztahy.

Abstract:

This diploma paper analysed the Russian perception of the 2008 war in Georgia through a literature review of Russian academic papers. The paper included a chronology and results of the Russo-Georgian war, an analysis of the conflict in Russian academic works using different realistic theories, and a discussion of information warfare as the main weapon of the 21st century. This study showed that Russia's involvement in the conflict between Georgia and South Ossetia and the emergence of information war had serious implications for international relations.
