Lower area of Vítkovice as a place for teaching geography

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je poskytnout vyučujícím geografie studijní oporu, která obsahuje všechny důležité informace, týkající se Dolní oblasti Vítkovice v Ostravě, potřebné k návštěvě tohoto areálu se svými studenty a také návrhy aktivit, které mohou začlenit do vyučování. V teoretické části je uvedena historie areálu, jednotlivé památky a stručný technologický postup výroby železa. Praktická část práce nabízí portfolio aktivit, které jsou situovány do areálu Dolní oblasti Vítkovic a které slouží ke zpestření výuky. Další část práce zobrazuje výhledy na Ostravu z nástavby Vysoké pece č. 1, které jsou popsány a přeloženy do anglického jazyka.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to present a study source about Lower Area of Vítkovice, Ostrava to teachers of geography, that contains all information needed when visiting this area with their students and also suggested activities that can be integrated into geography teaching. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the history of this area, with its individual parts and a brief procedure of producing iron. The practical part of this thesis presents a portfolio of activities that can be realized in this area and used in geography teaching. Another part of this work shows outlooks over Ostrava from the Blast furnace no. 1, the outlooks are described and translated into English.
