Abstract:

Cílem práce je popsat nasazení a použití nástrojů z rodiny Microsoft Power BI pro implementaci řešení Self Service Business Intelligence (SSBI). V úvodním bloku je čtenář seznámen s potřebným teoretickým základem z oblasti Business Intelligence, dále pak s problematikou SSBI včetně výhod a nevýhod takového řešení.Následující část práce se již věnuje aplikaci Microsoft Power BI, počínaje obecnými informacemi až po rozbor nejvýznamnějších komponent Power BI. Jádrem práce je případová studie, kdy je názorně předvedena funkcionalita aplikace Power BI Desktop nad vzorovými daty. Případová studie mapuje jednotlivé kroky počínaje načtením dat a konče sestavením hotového dashboardu. Přínosem této práce je především praktická část, která čtenáře velmi podrobně provází celým procesem použití aplikace Microsoft Power BI. Zájemcům o tuto aplikaci proto může práce pomoci s rozhodováním, zda je pro ně řešení SSBI od Power BI vhodné a případně je provést tvorbou jejich prvního dashboardu.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe using of the tools from the Microsoft Power BI family for implementing Self Service Business Intelligence solution. In the opening part is included the theory related to Business Intelligence and thereafter is described SSBI including the advantages and disadvantages of this solution.The main block focuses on the Microsoft Power BI already, starting with the basic information and ending with analysis of the most important components of Power BI. The core of this thesis is the case study, where is shown the main functionality of the Power BI Desktop application using the sample dataset. Case study follows all the steps starting with loading the data and finishing with creating dashboard.The contribution of this thesis is above all the case study, which goes along with the whole process of implementing and using Power BI. Moreover, it can help readers to decide whether SSBI solution by Power BI is suitable for them is and prospectively be used as tutorial when creating their first dashboard.
