Variability of wall vegetation south of Karlovy Vary

Abstract:

Tato práce zkoumá flóru a vegetací zdí v oblasti jižně od Karlových Varů v Západních Čechách. Na zdech nalezených v této oblasti bylo zapsáno 86 fytocenologických snímků, z toho 28 na horizontálách a 58 na vertikálách zdí. Ve snímcích bylo zaznamenáno 123 druhů cévnatých rostlin a 45 druhů mechorostů. Velká většina druhů se vyskytovala s nízkou stálostí, pouze 6% duhů se vyskytovalo se stálostí nad 20 %. Celkově nejčastějšími druhy byly Poa nemoralis, Taraxacum sect. Ruderalia a Urtica dioica, z mechorostů Tortula muralis a Brachythecium rutabulum. Na zkoumaných zdech bylo zaznamenáno průměrně 16 % nepůvodních druhů (z toho 13 % archeofytů a 3 % neofytů). Ze všech nalezených druhů cévnatých rostlin tvořily nepůvodní druhy 26 %. Metodou TwinSpan byly podle podobnosti vegetace rozlišeny celkem 4 skupiny, přičemž u každé z nich bylo popsáno druhové složení, ekologické nároky a rozšíření ve studované oblasti. Popsaná společenstva byla srovnána s vegetací analogických stanovišť v jiných oblastech České republiky. Ke zjištění vztahu druhového složení a proměnných prostředí zaznamenaných na zkoumaných zdech byla použita nepřímá gradientová analýza. Jako nejvýznamnější byl zjištěn vliv typu stanoviště (horizontála vs. vertikála; sídlo vs. mimo sídlo) a stupně oslunění.

Abstract:

This thesis studies the wall vegetation and flora in the area south of Karlovy Vary town in the Western Bohemia, Czech Republic. 86 relevés has been recorded, 28 being on horizontal surfaces and 58 on vertical ones. In total, 123 species of vascular plants and 45 species of bryophytes were recorded. Vast majority of the species occurring on the walls had only low constancy; only 6 % of species had constancy above 20 %. The most frequent species were Poa nemoralis, Taraxacum sect. Ruderalia and Urtica dioica, the most frequent of bryophytes were Tortula muralis and Brachythecium rutabulum. On average, there were 16 % alien species on a wall (13 % archaeophytes and 3 % neophytes). Of total 123 species of vascular plants 26 % were alien species. Using the TwinSpan method the relevees were categorized into four groups. Each of those groups was described by its species composition, ecological requirements and distribution in the study area. The communities were compared with the vegetation in the analogous habitats in the other areas of the Czech Republic. The indirect gradient analysis method was used to reveal the relationship between species composition and environmental factors of the habitats studied. The main factors influencing the species presence on the walls were the habitat type (horizontal vs. vertical surface; wall in a human settlement vs. wall in a natural settings) and the extent of insolation.
