Regulation of digital services in the European Union - safety of ordinary users in the online environment

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na analýzu dopadů a rizik nařízení o digitálních službách (DSA) na běžné uživatele online platforem. V teoretické části je popsán vývoj online digitálního prostoru od jeho počátků a geneze regulace v rámci Evropské unie. Hlavním cílem výzkumu je porozumět změnám, které DSA přinese a jak ovlivní uživatele digitálních služeb, včetně ochrany osobních údajů, šíření dezinformací a ochrany menšin. Dále je věnována pozornost historii regulace digitálních služeb v EU a jejich dopadů. V praktické části je proveden kvalitativní výzkum aktuálního stavu a předpokládaného stavu po implementaci DSA. Pro konkrétní uchopitelný výstup je provedena analýza rizik současných regulačních opatření a připravovaného DSA.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of the impact and risks of the Digital Services Act (DSA) on ordinary users of online platforms. The introduction describes the evolution of the online digital space since its inception and the need for regulation within the European Union. The main aim of the research is to understand the changes that the DSA will bring and how it will affect users of digital services, including data protection, the spread of misinformation and the protection of minorities. Furthermore, attention is paid to the history of digital services regulation in the EU and an assessment of its impact. In the practical part, a qualitative research on the current state and the expected state after the implementation of DSA is conducted. A risk analysis of the current regulatory measures and the forthcoming DSA is conducted for a concrete graspable outcome.
