Abstract:
This thesis deals with comics and is focused on three areas: the USA, Japan, France and Belgium. This thesis concerns the definition of comics, the elements of comics, and origin of the term of comics as the "ninth" art. Práce pojednává o komiksech a je zaměřená především na tři oblasti: Spojené státy americké, Japonsko, Francii a Belgii. Tato práce se zabývá definicí pojmu komiks, základními pojmy komiksu a odkud se vzal pojem komiks jako "deváté" umění. Dále pojednává o historii komiksu až do dnes, o jeho žánrech a tendencích.
