Pagan Federation in Czech Republic: Its activities and relation to archaic cults renewal movements

Abstract:

V úvodní části práce čtenáře stručně seznámím s pojmy pohanství a novopohanství. Následující dvě kapitoly věnuji Pohanské federaci na Britských ostrovech a Mezinárodní pohanské federaci, která má pobočky po celém světě. Seznamuji čtenáře se vznikem, působením a aktivitami těchto dvou organizací. Není tomu jinak ani u Mezinárodní pohanské federace v České republice, kterou však, jako hlavní téma této práce, rozpracovávám mnohem podrobněji. Mým cílem je podat čtenáři krom základních informací jako jsou historie, působnost a cíle PFIcz, informace, které se běžně, bez užší spolupráce s národními koordinátory, dovědět nemůže. Ústřední část práce je tedy založena na terénním výzkumu, díky němuž jsem se seznámila s potřebnými lidmi a dopracovala k potřebným informacím, které v této diplomové práci publikuji. Speciální podkapitolu jsem věnovala národním koordinátorům, kteří tady v průběhu existence PFIcz působili a díky jejichž aktivitě se federace rozrostla za pár let do takové podoby, v jaké ji známe dnes. Předposlední kapitola je věnována hnutím navazujícím na archaické kulty, s kterými PFIcz spolupracuje. Mým cílem není dopodrobna rozpracovat strukturu těchto novodobých pohanských směrů, jako u Mezinárodní pohanské federace v České republice, ale snažím se je čtenáři alespoň zevrubně přiblížit a popsat, jak vypadá jejich současný stav u nás, podle nejnovějších údajů, jenž mi sami členové přednedávnem poskytli. V poslední kapitole rozpracovávám informace z dotazníků, který jsem poslala několika desítkám novopohanů, a jenž by měl mít všeobecně informativní charakter o lidech, kteří se k novopohanským proudům hlásí.

Abstract:

In the introductory part of this thesis, the readers are briefly acquainted with the concepts of paganism and neo-paganism. The next two chapters are devoted to the Pagan Federation in the British Isles and the Pagan Federation International, which has offices worldwide. I introduce the origins, operations and activities of these two organizations. The same relates to the Pagan Federation International in the Czech Republic, which is the main theme of this work, and this is why it is studied by me in much more elaborate detail. My goal is to give readers apart from some basic information such as the history, scope and objectives of PFIcz, additional information that normally cannot be learnt without a closer co-operation with national co-ordinators. The central part is based on field research, through which I met with the relevant people and this helped me to find the necessary information which is published in this thesis. A special subchapter is dedicated to the national co-ordinators, who are present wherever the PFIcz is present and they worked through the activity of the PFIcz which has grown in a few short years into the form we know today. The penultimate chapter describes the movement of ancient cults, in which the PFI works.My goal is not to develop in great detail the structure of these modern pagan directions such as the Pagan Federation International in Czech Republic, but to try to bring readers to a greater understanding as to what the current situation looks like in our country, based on the latest information that my members have sent me. In the last chapter I elaborate information from the questionnaires that I sent to several dozen neo-pagans, and which should be generally informative about people who are involved in the latest trends in neo-paganism.
