Abstract:

Práce se zabývá dosavadním vývojem vztahů Evropské unie a Jihoafrické republiky a snaží se najít odpověď na to, zdali se nadále budou prohlubovat a v jakých oblastech. První kapitola popisuje vývoj Jihoafrické republiky od konce 80. let do současnosti. Druhá kapitola se věnuje vývoji vztahů Evropské unie a Jihoafrické republiky od vzniku Evropského hospodářského společenství po současnost. Závěr práce je, že vztahy se nadále prohlubovat mohou. Preferovanými oblastmi rozvojové spolupráce by měly být zaměstnanost, kriminalita a nerovnost mezi obyvateli.Pozornost by měla být věnována i obchodním vztahům.

Abstract:

The work deals with the development of relations between the European Union and the Republic of South Africa and tries to find an answer on whether it will continue to intensify and in which areas. The first chapter describes the development of Republic of South Africa from the late eighties to the present. The second chapter is devoted to the development of relations between the European Union and the Republic of South Africa since the inception of the European Economic Community to the present. The conclusion is that the relationship can continue to deepen. The preferred areas of development cooperation should be employment, crime and inequality between inhabitants. Attention should be also paid to the trading relationship.
